Why Does Your Pet Need Enzymes?

Enzymes are catalysts for every process in the body. Whether it is weight loss, eliminating high cholesterol, breaking down excess protein in tumors, or treating digestive problems, enzymes come to the rescue!

Benefits of Enzymes:

Increases T-Cell (cancer fighting cell) production and activity within a short period after digestion.
Raises white cell blood count.
Contains over 77 Ionic minerals.
Promotes weight loss.
Strengthens the immune system.
Improves nutritional absorption and energy level.
Reduces hunger cravings, the risk of degenerative disease, cholesterol, plaque build up and toxins in the body.
Enables the body to obtain nutrients from food.

Therefore, without digestive enzymes even the most nutritious foods will not be of any use to the body. Pet's diets (full of processed food and foods unnatural to them) strain the digestive system, making the addition of digestive enzymes even more important.

Adding Digestive Enzymes For Optimum Health
Pets that produce inadequate amounts of digestive enzymes will have a number of health problems including; a lack of energy, excessive gas, allergies, poor skin condition, loose stool, consumption of their own stool, foul breath and/or body odor.

Factors Causing Inadequate Amounts of Enzymes
As the body ages it produces less and less essential digestive enzymes. By the time a pet reaches middle age, the amount of digestive enzymes produced by the body decreases substantially.

Some pets have genetically inadequate digestive systems which can benefit from enzymes. Disease and stress can also inhibit the digestive system's performance, making digestive enzymes a recommended addition to the diet.

Why Add Digestive Enzymes to Pet's Diet?

Age
As pets age, much like humans, their systems produce less digestive enzymes then when they were younger. When the animals reach a certain age, they produce less and less of the enzymes that they produced as young animals.

General Condition of Health or Stress
The general condition of health has a lot of influence as to how much digestive enzymes they produce. Those that are sick or in a poor state of health will produce a considerably less amount then those that are healthy. When a pet is under a lot of stress, the digestive system is also affected, causing digestive problems.

Heredity
Certain animals are born with less than an adequate digestive system to be able to digest food properly. Poor digestion can lead to malnutrition and can be a contributing factor in seizures.

Wrong Combinations of Foods
Different foods digest at different rates and in different parts of the digestive tract. Eating the wrong combination of foods can cause a conflict that will result in many different problems. For example, when proteins and grains are eaten together, the grains start to ferment and cause gas. Also, as the combination slows the process, proteins start to putrefy and cause toxins to be released into the system.

Posture of Feeding
Some large breeds of dogs, when they eat off the floor, they are forced to gulp down their food. This causes pets to be bloated and slows down the digestion of foods. Raising the food table for them eases the digestive process and causes less discomfort overall.

Symptoms of Poor Digestion
Gas or loose stool
Poor skin condition
Being lethargic
Allergies
Poor health
Breath or body odor
Eating own stool
Poorly working intestine
